Methodology
How we rate psychic reading sites
Every platform is scored against the same five criteria, using evidence you can check. This page explains exactly how.
The five criteria
Each criterion is scored from 0 to 10 and carries an equal weight of 20%. The overall score is the weighted average, rounded to one decimal.
Pricing & transparency
20%- Whether per-minute rates are visible before you create an account
- How clearly the introductory offer and its conditions are explained
- The cost of getting started: lowest regular rate and minimum spend
- Fees or mechanics that make the real price harder to see (credits, inactivity fees, auto-renewing plans)
Advisor choice & specialties
20%- The size of the advisor pool, as the platform states it
- The range of reading types and languages
- How advisors are screened before they can take paid readings
Reading options & ease of use
20%- Which channels are offered: chat, phone, video and written messages
- Whether there are iOS and Android apps, and how they are rated
- How many steps it takes to get to a first reading
Customer protection & support
20%- What the satisfaction guarantee covers, its cap and its time window
- Whether you get money back or only account credit
- Support channels and opening hours, and whether policies contradict each other
Evidence of service quality
20%- Independent ratings (Trustpilot, app stores): score, number of reviews and consistency
- Warning signs such as polarised reviews or unanswered complaints
- How long the platform has been operating
What the scores mean
| Score | Label |
|---|---|
| 9.0–10.0 | Exceptional |
| 8.0–8.9 | Excellent |
| 7.0–7.9 | Good |
| 6.0–6.9 | Fair |
| 0.0–5.9 | Below average |
Where the evidence comes from
Our current reviews are desk research: we read each platform’s own pricing pages, FAQs, terms and refund policies, its app store listings and its profiles on independent review sites such as Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau. Each fact on a review page links to the page it came from, with the date we checked it.
We haven’t yet paid for test readings. When a review includes hands-on testing, it will say so at the top, and we’ll never describe a reading we didn’t have. We don’t rate the accuracy of individual readings: no platform can guarantee it, and reputable ones say so in their terms.
Missing information
If a platform doesn’t publish something, such as its number of advisors or its support hours, we show “Not verified” rather than guessing. Missing information counts against a platform only where it matters to customers, for example when prices or refund terms aren’t clear before you pay.
How the ranking is ordered
The ranking follows the overall score, highest first. If we ever order a list any other way, the page says so above the list and explains why. Paid placements are labelled “Sponsored”, carry no score and sit outside the ranking.
Offers and prices
New-customer offers change often. Each offer shows the date we last verified it, and an offer we haven’t re-verified within 45 days is removed automatically until we check it again. Per-minute rates are shown as the range the platform publishes; most platforms let each advisor set their own price.
Updates and corrections
We review every platform at least every three months and whenever its prices, offers or policies change. If you spot something wrong, tell us. We check it, correct the page and update its date.
